Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Collected, the website at collected.games and its related services (together, the “Service”). Collected is operated by Maxwell Anderson (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The Service lets you browse a catalog of video games assembled from public data sources and, with an account, track your own collection and generate recommendations. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required to consent to processing of personal data in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Your account
Some features require an account. You may register with an email address and password or sign in through a supported third-party provider (such as Google). You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@collected.games if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
You may also authorize third-party applications or automated agents to access the Service on your behalf (for example, through our Model Context Protocol endpoint and OAuth authorization). You are responsible for the access you grant, and you may revoke it at any time from your account settings.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our systems, or interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
- scrape or harvest data from the Service, or use our API or Model Context Protocol endpoints to bulk-download, mirror, or systematically extract the catalog. Those interfaces are provided so that you and the agents you authorize can use Collected on your own behalf, subject to the rate limits and usage budgets published in our API documentation;
- upload or transmit malicious code, or use the Service to store or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or entity.
4. Your content
The Service lets you create content such as collection entries, statuses, ratings, hours played, and notes (“Your Content”). You retain ownership of Your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate and provide the Service to you. You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it.
5. Catalog data and third-party sources
The game catalog is compiled from public sources. Game data, descriptions and cover art come from IGDB.com, and critic scores, compilation contents and media formats come from Wikidata, whose data is released under the CC0 1.0 public-domain dedication. Collected is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by these sources. Catalog data is provided for informational purposes and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate; we make no warranty as to its accuracy or completeness.
Game titles, cover art, logos, and related marks are the property of their respective publishers and rights holders. Their appearance in the catalog is for identification and reference only and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
Catalog data is licensed to us, not to you. Our sources license the catalog to us for use in Collected. We cannot and do not sublicense it, so accessing it through the Service — including through our API, our Model Context Protocol server, or any agent you authorize — gives you no rights in it beyond using Collected itself.
Accordingly, you may not:
- re-publish, re-syndicate, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or otherwise make catalog data available to any third party;
- retain or accumulate catalog data beyond what your own use of the Service requires; or
- use catalog data to build, populate, augment, or train any database, dataset, index, or model that reproduces or substitutes for the catalog.
Where you display catalog data, you must keep the attribution we serve with it — including the credit to IGDB.com and the per-record link to the source record. Applications and agents you authorize act as you and are bound by these restrictions. They apply however you obtained the data, and they survive the closing of your account or the revocation of your credentials.
6. Copyright and takedown requests
We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you are a rights holder (or authorized to act on one’s behalf) and believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@collected.games that includes:
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
- identification of the material you believe is infringing and enough detail to let us locate it on the Service (for example, the page URL);
- your name, address, and contact information;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on the rights holder’s behalf; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
We will review valid notices and remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing, and we may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
7. Intellectual property
Except for catalog data drawn from third-party sources and Your Content, the Service—including its software, design, and the “Collected” name and branding—is owned by Maxwell Anderson and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without prior written permission.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is offered free of charge and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service or the data it contains will meet your requirements or be accurate or reliable.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL MAXWELL ANDERSON BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maxwell Anderson from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms, of any applicable law, or of the rights of any third party. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification—will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service where reasonable. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and handle your information.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a transfer or discontinuation of the Service. Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, or joint venture between you and us.
